At Innes & Mackay we have an ethos of giving back to the local community when we can.
We feel very fortunate at Innes & Mackay to be in a position which allows us to support local events, people and charities by way of donation or gifts in kind.

When we received a lovely handwritten letter from 8-year-old Lucas Ross-Cameron asking for help with his dreams and aspirations to become a Formula 1 Racing driver, we were intrigued. Lucas showed such passion in his writing. He was so kind and appreciative of all the support that his family had given him up to that point in supporting his racing, we knew straight away we had to get involved.
We decided to sponsor Lucas with a donation towards the costs of his 2019 racing season – t. He has participated in 6 events hosted by the NSKC (North of Scotland Kart Club). He has also taken part in the 2019 Scottish Championships competing against some of the top drivers in his class.
Lucas stated “I was delighted when my mum told me Innes and Mackay were going to sponsor me for my 2019 season! Having a sponsor helps so much because Mum and Dad can make sure I have what I need for racing. Being a F1 driver is my ultimate goal, but I understand that it’s not just about being quick and winning these days. You need to have a lot of money behind you to keep working your way up through karting and the Formulas. My Mum and Dad have always said as long as I’m enjoying racing, they’ll do what they can to keep it going, so having sponsors is a massive help to get me where I want to be!”
Carol Blanchard, who is Club Secretary and a licensed Clerk of the Course informed us “Lucas has also been down to Boyndie with the Grampian Kart Club. We also have our championship at the club that he has been participating in, and the final round is being held at the end of September”
Aside from keeping busy with his training, Lucas is also one of the volunteers with the clubs ‘Let’s Go Karting’ – a taster session for 8 to 12-year-olds where he can pass on his knowledge and expertise.
We wish Lucas all the very best with his Karting, and look forward to continuing to follow his journey through regular updates!
